History of the RAMPF Group

The history of Rampf GmbH is a gripping tale of inventive spirit – you couldn't make it up if you tried! From the early 1980s to the present day, the company has been shaped by entrepreneurial courage, technical know-how, and some great success stories.

1980 Establishment of RAMPF Kunststoffsysteme GmbH

1980 l Founding of RAMPF Kunststoffsysteme GmbH

Rudolf Rampf founds “RAMPF Kunststoffsysteme GmbH” in Grafenberg, which is located between Stuttgart and Reutlingen. The one-man operation is based in the old Grafenberg gymnasium. Rudolf mixes the first polyurethane casting resins by hand and development takes place at night.

1996 Integration EPUCRET

1996 l Integration of EPUCRET

The integration of EPUCRET GmbH, located in Rechberghausen, marks the first milestone for the RAMPF Group. As a manufacturer of mineral casting machine beds, the company enables RAMPF to expand its product portfolio. This know-how generates synergies that are also used in the manufacture of reactive resins. Now based in Wangen, near Göppingen, EPUCRET is a global market leader..

1999 Completion of a further building

1999 l Site expansion

The Grafenberg site is expanded, with the construction of a large two-story production complex and a four-story administrative building. Covering an area of 650 square meters, the new laboratory becomes the heart of the business. The Technical Center of RAMPF GIESSHARZE, which acts as an interface between development and application, is also extended to create a Service Center for customers.

2001 Gründung Rudolf-Rampf-Stiftung

2001 l Launch of the Rudolf Rampf Foundation

Rudolf Rampf has been a committed member of Grafenberg's town council for years, but that is not enough for him. Seeing particular potential in the younger members of society, he creates the RUDOLF RAMPF FOUNDATION for the “advancement of young people”.

Further highlights: Construction work starts on Plant II in Grafenberg. The group of companies now has a combined workforce of around 100.

Effective January 2009, the RAMPF Group takes over the Form-In-Place Gasketing Division of Chemque Inc. The aim of this acquisition is for RAMPF to establish itself as the global market leader for foam gaskets. Chemque's foam gaskets represent the ideal addition to RAMPF's comprehensive product portfolio, which now also includes FDA- and UL-listed systems. Production and sales activities at two locations are planned. The European market is supplied by RAMPF Giessharze GmbH & Co. KG. in Germany, while the U.S. subsidiary, RAMPF Group, Inc. (Wixom, Michigan), deals with customers in the NAFTA region.

In October, the RAMPF Group holds a ceremony at its headquarters in Grafenberg to officially open its new Innovation Center. The new building represents an investment of eight million euros and is intended to result in further technology advances. At 5,520 square meters, it nearly doubles the existing floor space and it is used above all for laboratories and application technology. RAMPF Tooling and RAMPF Giessharze, both of which have their corporate headquarters in Grafenberg, are thus able to cater even more specifically to customer requirements.
