Low viscous bonding compound for grinding and polishing media
It’s all in the mix. RAMPF Giessharze has developed a new, innovative polyurethane bonding compound for the grinding and polishing industry. It’s the first time the demands of the application were fulfilled with a high performance polyurethane bonding compound: This offers significant advantages and saves time and money.

It’s all the mix – the usage of two B-components can be according to the application mixed differently.
RAMPF Giessharze presents with its new developed polyurethane bonding com-pound an economical alternative to the often used epoxy resins in this application. Due to fast curing at room temperature, the new polyurethane bonding compound can sustain and enhance the productivity. Now the curing takes only five to max. 15 minutes, much less than up to two hours for epoxy materials. The demolding times are- depending on the application- in most cases under ten minutes. The often feared problem of bubble formation using polyurethane is history. Due to the special hydrophobizing of the systems, the humidity reaction and thereby the occurrence of bubble formation is eliminated. Another big advantage in comparison to epoxy resins is the better working place hygiene due to physiologically harmless raw materials. Based on the high heat resistance and good mechanical properties, the systems resist stress during usage.
The new polyurethane bonding compound RAKU-PUR 55-2210 offers in addition the possibility of variable manufacturing options for most various grinding and polishing media. Due to a very low viscosity of the A-component and the using of two B-components with different viscosity, an optimal coating with the thinnest abrasive cloths is guaranteed. It’s multi-flexible– with only one system a very wide range of grit can be covered. Perfect for flexible manufacturing is the usage of three-component mixing and dispensing equipment, as offered for example by RAMPF Dosiertechnik. “The system offers completely new opportunities; time and money can be saved because of short reaction times and the variable use of two B-components”, emphasizes Andreas Arit, product manager of RAMPF Giessharze.
